My journey with protein began out of personal necessity. As an athlete and a heavy consumer of protein powders, I was always searching for the best product to support my active lifestyle. However, due to my lactose intolerance, whey isolate proteins started causing digestive and skin issues.
In search of an alternative, I found that many products on the market did not meet my expectations. Pea protein powders, for example, were often too sweet, with the taste of peas masked by artificial flavors and sweeteners. Additionally, I was concerned about the lack of transparency in the food industry, never really knowing what these products contained. My desire for a more natural and eco-friendly alternative grew stronger. I wanted to develop a product that was not only good for health but also environmentally friendly, aligning with my personal values. That’s when the idea for Incekt Protein began to take shape.
As I explored different options, I discovered insect proteins, particularly those from crickets. Not only are they extremely nutritious, but they also have a much lower environmental impact compared to traditional protein sources. Crickets require fewer resources to produce and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

I am Emmy Dumais, originally from Dolbeau-Mistassini, an agricultural town north of Lac Saint-Jean. The family dairy farm, where my grandparents, uncle, and aunt still oversee more than 400 cows today, shaped my childhood. The long workdays, the care for the animals, and my grandfather's passion for farming instilled in me a sense of dedication and perseverance from a young age.
My entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 5 when I organized a garage sale to raise money so that my father, who worked far from home, could stay with us. Inspired by the show "Dans l'œil du dragon," I developed an early interest in business. However, my school years were marked by bullying and anxiety, pushing me to seek refuge in fitness and personal development to overcome these challenges.
At 17, I launched Shape Up online, offering training and nutrition programs. Although promising, I had to set this project aside to pursue my studies in physiotherapy techniques. Despite this, my desire to start a business remained strong. Therefore, I decided to leave college to undertake my training in massage therapy and become self-employed in a clinic. During my massage therapy training, I discovered the benefits of insects as a sustainable protein source, reigniting my interest in entrepreneurship.
Today, at the helm of Incekt Protéines Inc., whose trademark is Drink Nature, I strive to raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating and a balanced lifestyle. For me, it is possible to make changes gradually by making small adjustments to our lifestyles.
